A payments platform, built to stay up.
Neem, financial infrastructure for Pakistan: banking-as-a-service and payments. I led the deployment and upkeep of its cloud environment as DevOps engineer.

The problem
A company that moves money for other companies can’t have a bad deploy or an hour of downtime: every outage lands on its customers’ customers. The cloud environment had to be scalable, highly available and secure from the start, while the product was still changing fast.
What I changed
I led the deployment and upkeep of the cloud environment, working with the product and security teams. The goal was a base the product team could ship on without thinking about it: predictable environments, capacity that follows demand, and security decisions made once and applied everywhere.
The result
A scalable, highly available cloud base the product team could ship on, kept secure as the platform grew.
Step by step
One way to build environments
Production and the environments around it set up the same way, so a change tested in one behaved the same in the next.
Room to grow
Services set up to scale with demand instead of being sized once for launch day.
Security in the defaults
Access, network boundaries and secrets agreed with the security team and built in, not added after an audit.
